All of us have dreams and goals. The focus of our community programs for people with intellectual / developmental disabilities is helping children and adults on the autism spectrum, with a traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, or other cognitive disabilities achieve their own meaningful goals.

Some aspire to get a job or live independently. Others want to make new friends and explore the world around them. We believe that a life of healthy interdependence is important for all, and so, we help people to build a strong circle of support they can count on in pursuit of their goals. Our programs combine recreation, creative arts, volunteer work, life skills, pre-vocational training, and job coaching in a mix that helps each person fulfill their own aspirations. Working with people one-on-one to determine what their goals are, we then provide the resources they need to achieve them.

I.Y.M. Support Services

Behavioral Supports

Behavioral support services work to establish the behavioral supports necessary for individuals to achieve social, emotional, and behavioral success. This is accomplished through staff training and implementing effective interventions for those individuals with comprehensive behavioral and/or emotional needs.

career Coaching

Our Career Coaching services are designed to support a person’s community employment goals by gathering information on the individual’s strengths, interests and employment preference in order to help them find employment in the job market. Assisting the individual with applying to employment opportunities, preparing resumes, mock interviews, and seeking out internship opportunities and training in the career field.

individual support

Individual Support Services are community-based services that transfer skills necessary to achieve and/or maintain increased independence, productivity, enhanced family functioning and inclusion in the community for young people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

community inclusion

Community Inclusion services help individuals who are looking to enrich their daily life with education, recreation or community-based activities. Whether it is a Cooking class, Pottery, a trip to the mall, bowling or a visit to the local church. Our community inclusion support services help them to build independence through community activities.

The Dream Again Center along with IYM Employment & Support Services is a community integration organization, based in Warrenton. We aim to provide much needed services for children and individuals with disabilities. Our organization has partnered with the North Carolina Department of Children and Families and the Department of Health and Human Services to offer social and educational services to youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Warren, Halifax, and Vance counties in North Carolina.

supported Employment

Supported Employment services help individuals find an integrated job in their communities. The program goal is to provide full access to employment through the provision of individual support services for people who have historically been excluded from employment.

transportation service

Transportation services provides individuals with disabilities who are unable to use regular buses or trains the opportunity navigate communities with the assistance of staff.

community based support

Community based support services provides assistance for individuals who need direct support to achieve independence and inclusion. Services are delivered one on one by staff who assist with community-based activities.
